I’m not sure what you want to accomplish with rules in the above,
since you didn’t mention any actions.
I created a smart mailbox under All Messages. In the smart mailbox
configuration, the Mailboxes tab is the default (All Messages). I set
the Conditions to “From • Name is - Glenn Parker”. The smart
mailbox immediately changes to show only messages from me.
Now, if I wanted to do something with that subset of messages, I would
add a new rule and define a condition like, maybe, “Date • Year
less or equal to - 2022”, and then add an Action like, maybe, “Move
to Mailbox - Archive”. Note that I do not need to include a condition
about the from address, since the smart mailbox is already filtering for
that.
Committing and applying that new rule would move all the messages from
2022 and older to my archive folder (not something I really want to do
BTW).
Maybe it would help to share a small screenshot? That can be tricky on
this email forum, since messages with large attachments get blackholed,
but I’m having a hard time envisioning what’s not working for you.
