[MlMt] R5923 memory leaks on M1 iMac/Ventura

Ditto, except I had to reach further back on the version tree… note to 
sel —  keep the most recent working version in a handy place

My system: MailMate/5673/… /x86_64/iMac21,1/8 except this is actually 
M1 hardware
