Thanks, yes I'm definitely willing to pay for email hosting. I hadn't really thought of a free IMAP host as a serious option. There's Gmail of course, but I've only recently succeeded in extracting myself from Google's clutches. I'd rather not go back there. I'll certainly take a look at Fastmail.
