I don't know if it can do all that you want, but you can try creating
rules in the “Archive” mailbox. This has the advantage that any
button or key stroke in MailMate archiving a message is going to trigger
your filters.
* Click on the “Archive” mailbox.
* Select “Mailbox ▸ Edit Mailbox” (or double click the mailbox
icon).
* Swith to the Rules pane.
* Add your desired rules and see if the conditions/actions can do what
you want.
If you need to trigger different sets of rules then you need more
mailboxes to trigger them. You can then use ⌥⌘T to move messages to
each of these mailboxes in order to trigger the rules. Alternatively,
tags can be used to trigger rules assigned to tag-based smart mailboxes,
or you can trigger the rules automatically when messages reach a certain
age.
