[MlMt] Mailmate for POP3? Future prospects from Mailmate?

I, for one, would welcome a Maildir based local-storage for an "archive" 
of mail from MailMate.  I realise this isn't really where MailMate wants 
to be as a product, but, it would be a welcome addition to have a way to 
take a given mailbox and synchronise it to local storage and see that as 
a "Local Folder" in the same way Mail.app does.

I use the Dovecot/Postfix that comes with the OS X Server.app, and that 
works just as fine as MacPorts (I don't use any of the ports systems, 
personal choice) - so the approach Kai outlines would work fine -- 
indeed, part of what I want to accomplish is the ability to run "mutt" 
on the command line against my mail, and Mutt plays very nicely with 
this setup...

Anyway, Benny, if you're keeping track, "Local Mail" would be handy 
someday.  Maybe for 3.0.  ;-)
