Well, as most mailing list readers know I'm not too keen on this 
feature, but for anyone interested I described a workaround using an 
offline IMAP account in [this 
ticket](http://freron.lighthouseapp.com/projects/58672-mailmate/tickets/733-archive-on-mac-only#ticket-733-3). 
It's quite a hack though (and I didn't test it) :-)
