[MlMt] r7035 is great!

Henry,
Thanks for all of that information. Earlier today I re-upped my license
to the subscription model and then downloaded and installed the beta
7037. It seems to have a bug that prevented sent messages from actually
sending. They stayed in Drafts indefinitely and I kept getting an Error
dialog every few minutes saying so. Claude diagnosed the problem and
put a workaround in place so that it is now working for me, but I’ll
list the symptoms and the workaround description here in case it helps
anyone else:
**Setup**
- MailMate 3.0 beta r7037, upgraded from r6272 (which worked). macOS 26
(Darwin 25.6).
- Single Office 365 account, OAuth2 for both IMAP and SMTP.
- IMAP: outlook.office365.com:993, SSL required.
- SMTP: smtp.office365.com:587, port selection manual, SSL required.
**Symptoms**
- Sent messages stay in Drafts and are never submitted.
- The SMTP section of the Activity Viewer stays empty, and no errors are
shown.
- On quit, MailMate hangs on "Closing server connections… 2 active
SMTP connections" and has to be force-quit.
- IMAP is unaffected: fetching, IDLE and syncing drafts all work.
**Diagnosis**
- MmDebugConnect shows the SMTP connection stalling after
attempt_connect: smtp.office365.com, port: 587. It eventually logs:
Failed connecting: smtp.office365.com, port: 587, starttls: 0
- netstat shows several established connections to port 587. Each has
129 bytes in its receive queue that are never read: the server's
plaintext 220 … Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready greeting. MailMate
appears to be treating 587 as implicit TLS (starttls: 0) and waiting for
a TLS handshake that the server never starts.
- The server itself is fine: openssl s_client -connect
smtp.office365.com:587 -starttls smtp completes a TLS 1.3 handshake
normally.
- IMAP connections on 993 (implicit TLS) go straight on to XOAUTH2
authentication without trouble.
**Workaround**
defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmNetworkFrameworkEnabled -bool NO
After a relaunch, SMTP reads the greeting, does STARTTLS, and logs in
with XOAUTH2. All the queued messages sent, and quitting no longer
hangs.
