[MlMt] What is the recommended release to run evryday and why does the update button doesn't seem to work?

Hi MailMates

I am on MailMate r6272 and after a crash Benny suggested to update to a 
newer version.

I tried to get a newer (beta) release via:

_Settings_ -> _Software Update_ -> Tick “_Watch for Beta releases_” 
& then click “_Check now_”

However MailMate tells me r6272 is the latest version.

What is the recommended release to run everyday and how can I get?
