[MlMt] Key binding to filter message list by tag?

One way to shorten things is to create a keystroke for search (there is 
also an option in the search UI to search the current mailbox), then use 
the built-in shortcut for Tag/Keywords (find this in Search Syntax). So 
just 2-3 keystrokes before you enter the relevant tag.
