I don't think there's a lot you can do with such users who are not 
really interested in trying stuff out and have become used to at least 
one release a year, whether or not it contains anything really new. This 
seems particularly common for IOS users where Apple uses changes in the 
SDK to force updates, first of software, then of hardware.

Benny has said many times that, due to the scale of the rewrites, he's 
had to hold off making releases because he knows that there are 
potential bugs, as anyone who's tried **all** the test releases can 
testify. Yes, they're mostly very solid, but there are occasionally 
showstoppers. That said, I think it would be reasonable to push the most 
recent beta (r5937) maybe as version 1.2.

Anyone who does software development will know that it can be quite hard 
to decide when a new version is ready.
