[MlMt] r5943 is unstable

This issue should be fixed in r5944, but it's likely there will be other issues since r5943 was a major update. It's not all bad though. A lot of code has been improved/simplified and some issues (long standing issues) have been fixed and other issues will now be easier to fix/improve.
