Thanks for using it!

I found the email on the GMail web app, and then tried searching again - still couldn’t find it. I then went into the sources view, which I assume has all email from the gmail account, and sure enough the email isn’t there. It’s a short thread: 2 messages from someone else, 1 from myself. I can see my sent message, but not the two from my correspondent.

As noted elsewhere in this thread, Gmail (Gimap) is not IMAP. It's a bit like an unintentional (I assume) variant of the old "embrace, extend, and exterminate" policy of Microsoft except that the last step never happened (and hopefully never will).

The main problem is that it's impossible for an email client to just gracefully handle everything like the user would expect, because the email client doesn't know which mailboxes are really intended to be mailboxes and which are intended to be labels (tags in MailMate). Only the user knows.

I strongly recommend reading this manual page: https://manual.mailmate-app.com/account_setup#gmail

In general, I often see suggestions about re-adding accounts to MailMate. I do not recommend that. Most often it won't make a difference and it will definitely result in MailMate taking up more space for database index files.
