This sounds like there was a problem with sending an e-mail at some point but that doesn't necessarily have to be MailMate. I occasionally have problems sending from FairEMail - network stuff, certs not being okay and such e-mails are in a separate "outgoing" folder. You might want to check the IMAP subscriptions to see if you've got folders that you're not seeing.

Otherwise it should be possible to query for outgoing mail that hasn't been sent yet.
