If it’s happening more generally, you can adjust the responsiveness of 
your keyboard.  On a mac (which is the world I live in), it’s under 
“Keyboard,” which is under “System Preferences.”  There you can 
adjust the “Key Repeat” (you can turn it off completely or adjust 
from slow to fast).  You can also adjust the “”Delay Until Repeat” 
(from short to long).  I’m sure there are similar adjustments for 
other operating systems.
