[MlMt] Can't remove all mailboxes from Smart Mailbox

I have a few smart mailboxes that have no mailboxes and no conditions specified in them, so they behave as just dumb folders in which I have organized other smart mailboxes. I tried to create another one of these "dumb" folders today, but after making a new smart mailbox, I am unable to remove the default mailboxes under the Mailboxes tab... I can add or change the mailbox settings and create compounds, but I can't delete the default setting, and I want to get rid of all the mailboxes so that nothing appears when it's clicked-on in the sidebar.

I feel like there was an option in the past to create just a folder, but maybe I'm remembering wrong. Either way, I have existing folders that have no mailboxes in their settings, and I got there somehow :/
