This is too broad a generalization about EagleFiler. The format of files imported into EagleFiler depends entirely on how you created the files. All my email messages from a given yearn appear as a single file in the Finder. When I click that file in EagleFiler, the included messages appear individually and can be browsed and accessed normally. Of course, you can also export your messages as individual files, and they will remain individual files after they are imported.

For me, EagleFiler's method of retaining files that are accessible by other programs is a big benefit, as it allays my fear of losing access should the program one day be no longer maintained.
