We don’t, but the Unicode set includes variations of symbols with the same meaning to enable precisely appropriate typesetting for different informational contexts. For example, a fraction slash might be used to separate a superscript numerator and a subscript denominator, while a division slash might separate full-height numerals. In this scheme, the solidus would be used for textual rather than numerical content (and/or).
