I thought it would be simple enough just as I thought EagleFiler(EF) would do it easily. Alas, it seems neither is true for me.

Would like to know how you may have accomplished this task, what problems you ran into and overcame and if it has worked out well for you.
I don't understand the details of your process. I only export from MailMate and import to EagleFiler about once per year, and I rarely remember from year to year just how I did it the last time. I've never had a problem. I suspect that the method I use most often is to use MailMate's Commands > Export > Copy to mbox operation, and then drag the mailbox from the Finder into EagleFiler. I'd probably double-check that agains EagleFiler's manual to make sure that's one good way to do it. On the EagleFiler side, everything's well documented, so the only challenge you should face is to export from MailMate in the way that best suits the EagleFiler import process you want to use. Best of luck.
