I don't think I understand the question.

In general, MailMate always uses Apple's Contacts interface (the 
Contacts framework and to some extend the older AddressBook framework). 
BusyContacts only comes into play when asking MailMate to view/edit a 
contact (for which it uses the `busycontacts:` URL scheme).
