I know there are hidden preferences to control this behavior. Here's what I set:
defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmDeleteBehavior -string "markAsDeleted"
defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmShowDeletedMessages -bool YES
I've been using those settings for years. I don't know if Benny ever made them available via the GUI.
BTW, I agree with Sebastian that this is the correct way to use IMAP, "older" or not. :-)
I have an Xfinity email account, and SpamSieve works perfectly well for me on that account, moving messages it thinks are spam to the "Junk" folder, so I don't agree with the hypotheses that this is an Xfinity issue.
