This would be very useful on wide-screen displays when the system is set 
to “Prefer tabs when opening documents”.

The current horizontal split shows only a few lines of text in both 
compose & preview panels, but lines are too long for comfortable reading 
in either panel.

A vertical preview option would yield more readable line lengths in both 
panels.
