Aha! Ok, good catch!
I got it.
So what you say is that:
1. Take the old mac
2. Take the new mac
3. Connect the two with an as fast connection as possible
4. Ensure MailMate is not running on either of the two
5. Copy the ~/Library/Application Support/MailMate directory from old to new host
