Unfortunately Exchange does not support so-called custom IMAP keywords. 
This means that tags can only work locally. This is also true for 
colored flags. Only “Flagged”, “Seen”, and a few other standard 
keywords can be synchronized.

Hmm, in that case I don't know how Thunderbird makes that work.
