Yes, that should be fine. I tried 
[googling](http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/10467/how-to-increase-keyboard-key-repeat-rate-on-os-x) 
and this appears to be 0.03 seconds. (It's possible to get it down to 
0.015.)

I'm actually seeing something similar. I'm not quite sure why. Every 
time the selection changes then the delay is reset. The only explanation 
is that it some times takes more than 0.05 seconds for MailMate to 
handle the next key-event. I'll look into this.

The code handling selection changes in the messages outline does not 
really know anything about why it has been asked to move the cursor. I 
would prefer to keep it that way.

I'm afraid that would be too slow for long key repeat intervals (at 
least when MailMate does not immediately update when the key is 
released).
