If you did this, one idea is to allow the setting of a maximum size. For 
instance, if you know the recipient's mail service accepts up to 5 MB 
e-mails, you could subtract the size of the message itself from that, 
then divide the remaining megabytes up among the downsample-able 
attachments and shrink them only enough to get the whole package under 
the target size.
