Well, the obvious downside of course: You cannot access (or search for) 
the messages of that mailbox using MailMate. Unsubscribing makes 
MailMate behave as if the mailbox did not exist.

One caveat though: MailMate allows you to either unsubscribe server-side 
or client-side. Doing it server-side is also going to make other email 
clients ignore the mailbox (if they support IMAP subscriptions which few 
actually do). Client-side ensures that the change does not affect any 
other email clients.
