It appears your new email client does not maintain the quoting level 
correctly in the plain text body part. Your problems with MailMate are, 
of course, worse, so I'm not pointing fingers here :-)

I've received the logs you sent later on. They appear to indicate that 
the problem might be that MailMate is not patient enough when 
reconnecting to the server. When MailMate has finished synchronizing an 
account then it frees the unused connections to the server after a 
couple of minutes (with a polite LOGOUT). Later, when making new 
connections, MailMate times out waiting for a reply. I'm not sure if a 
larger timeout value can fix it, but I'll make that configurable for you 
to test it.
