[MlMt] Does MailMate require GPGTools?

Sometimes when I open a message on this list, MailMate shows it with 
this message at the top of the window:

> Unable to locate the command (gpg2) needed to create the OpenPGP 
> message.
> Please verify that you have installed GPGTools as required by 
> MailMate.

Is that just poorly expressed, or am I actually expected to install 
GPGTools when I install MailMate?

I can read the message just fine. I'd rather not see the yellow warning 
window, though.
