[MlMt] Suggestions for signatures with multipart/alt messages?

I like using Markdown with the "Generate HTML" feature enabled, for
all of the obvious reasons.  However, my long-standing signature
assumes a mono-spaced font and and looks atrocious rendered in HTML.

Has anyone found a good solution to this problem?

If not, perhaps an option to automatically wrap sigs in PRE blocks or
to select a different signature for each content type (text/plain vs.
text/html).
