However, it does "hang" if you set a book on your keyboard (holding the 
spacebar down repeatedly) and then try to access MailMate with your 
mouse!

That happened this morning.  I typically have my sound off and it took 
me a while to discover why I couldn't get MailMate to come to. It really 
surprised me too, since MailMate is generally very responsive.  Then I 
switched to TexShop and saw the cursor relentlessly moving across the 
page.
