Thank you for getting me on the right path! I had been looking into those pages - but never understood that option, or where to find the Identifier list :)

I guess part of the appeal of MailMate is that you get out of it what you put into it :) I have enjoyed the complete customization of this mail program - the headaches of figuring out how to get it to work the way you wish brings the satisfaction of getting it done!

Again, thanks to you and the MM folks who help out on this mailing list as well - it's a great community!

Check out "Custom keybindings" https://manual.mailmate-app.com/custom_key_bindings

And "Key Binding Selectors" https://manual.mailmate-app.com/key_binding_selectors

There you find "makeFirstResponder" that allow you to set focus to any layout part.

You likely want "messageView" in this case.

I use this in several of my custom keybindings, like this:

"i" = ( "goToMailbox:", "INBOX", "makeFirstResponder:", "mainOutline", "selectFirstMessageRow:" );

This binds "i" to go to the inbox and set focus on the list of e-mails (and select the first row) so I can use my arrow keys to traverse the list of e-mails.
