In short, this requires that the user logs into a website and explicitly allows MailMate to access the service. A special token is then returned which MailMate can use to authenticate when connecting to the server. Enabling OAuth2 in the settings only means that MailMate uses this authentication method <strong>if</strong> it’s available. Currently, this only works with Gmail and Office365 accounts. Use “Help ▸ Send Feedback” if you have access to a different server with OAuth2 support. Note that Microsoft often uses the term “Modern Authentication” to describe what, in practice, is OAuth2 authentication for IMAP/SMTP.</p></li></ul><div dir="ltr"><div dir="auto" style="overflow-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;"><font style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">I wouldn’t be surprised if app-passwords are deprecated in Gmail and Outlook in time.</font></div><div dir="auto" style="overflow-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;"><font style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">-- </font></div><div dir="auto" style="overflow-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;"><font style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Steven Taylor<br><span dir="ltr">509-280-9198</span><br><a href="mailto:sgtaylor@taylorcomputing.biz">sgtaylor@taylorcomputing.biz</a><br><a href="https://www.taylorcomputing.biz/">https://www.taylorcomputing.biz</a></font></div></div><div dir="ltr"><br><blockquote type="cite">On Nov 21, 2024, at 06:46, RANDY ABBOTT <abbott_randy@outlook.com> wrote:<br><br></blockquote></div><blockquote type="cite"><div dir="ltr">

When I try to send mail from my Outlook.com account, I get the error <i>Authentication unsuccessful, basic authentication is disabled.</i> However, I am using an app specific password to login to Outlook.com. I have tried resetting the app password, but that
does not resolve the issue. I've also verified my IMAP settings with <span style="font-size: 11pt; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">
