Hi Henry,

I came from a 2018 Intel MacBook, which was really feeling ancient…

This is very helpful info. Maybe I’ll try 6058.

I do like to tinker, and have already done so with MailMate, setting up various hotkeys, mailboxes, views. I really love it.

I want to avoid too much experimenting, lest I break email, which is not something I want to fight with right now.

I am a bit confused by the versioning and release strategy. I appreciate your extra info.

Hi Devin,

By comparison to you, I am on “ancient machines” - MBP 18,3 (MacBook 14” M1 2-21 vintage), 32Gb RAM, 1TB SSD, still good enough for Sequoia though. M-M v6058 runs fine for me here, though the late latest is 6065. These are know as Experimental versions, neither beta nor the original release both of which are year(s) old vintages.

I’ve played with several versions and my current version fully meets my needs. I wish that the developer would have followed normal software progressions but hasn’t thus far, rather Benny has opened up many developmental version to all users who have the web link to his archives.

You will find lots of support for things you’d like to accomplish with this product far more than many email programs. So, much more satisfying if you like to ‘tinker’.

Good luck and stay in touch!

Respectfully,

Hello,

I seem to recall a recent mention of this, but now can’t find it. What version of MM is everyone using?

I finally started using MM end of last year and love it. I followed the recommendation on the site to install the latest beta release, version 1.14 (5937).

Are there worthwhile fixes or new features past 1.14 (5937)? Is there a particularly stable version that people are using?

I see mention of Benny working on newer versions. I think others have suggested updating to one version or another.

For my preferences, I’m usually fine with beta versions and some minor bugs, though less so with email. That said, happy to update if there are compelling reasons to do so.

I’ve just updated my laptop, so I’m reassessing everything about my setup, including software updates. If it matters, I’m now on an M4 MacBook Pro running macOS 15.1 Sequoia.

Thanks for any tips!
