Hi Randy,

Yes. I have two issues, both reported via feedback, with Rules including the one you noted, =that seem to waiting for a next release. I have several rules with issues created for similar purposes. The issues reported (via Feedback to Benny):

Rules seem to run sometimes, not reliably. My workaround was to run them manually, check back to see if they run on the requested condition (“Due-Received”).

Rules, once created, cannot be edited further. This also seems intermittent.

I attempted troubleshooting of the issues with Benny but after his initial response did not hear further to date. If you can duplicate my other issues that would be also appreciated. Copying to the Feedback page, just in case.

My use of rules is basically to:

Clean up folders’ content (archiving),

Delete Junk mail to the Deleted folder pending further removal.

Delete old un-needed emails by subject.

Delete mail permanently from the deleted folders on a regular basis (2 months).

Appending his previous response (06SEP2024) regarding possible solutions in the NEXT VERSION r66, as yet unreleased. I do not know if he is monitoring the feedback page since that response. Sent further troubleshooting info up through 24SEP.

I recently created a rule that permanently deletes all messages older than seven days that is in the Junk folder older. While I can manually run the rule to delete the messages, it will not run automatically.

Here is a screen shot of the rule.

[ "Screenshot 2024-09-28 at 7.36.39 PM.png" ]

I have two rules for the Junk folder. This rule is listed after another rule that marks-as-read messages flagged as spam, which runs automatically without issue.

[ "Screenshot 2024-09-28 at 7.37.35 PM.png" ]

Why is this rule running automatically? Are there any setings I might have missed that prevent automatic execution?

I see that there is a new version r6065. Has there been any change on this issue at your end? You asked to troubleshoot further. So you want me to try 6065 and report back on that with Rules open, I suppose.

No, I do think I've found the issue, but it's not released yet. Possibly some time next week. (So, r6066+ will have the fix.)

Otherwise I will wait for a version fix for the problems with Rules you know about. I don’t think going backwards in old versions would be productive for me without further specifics as to which one.

I'm pretty sure r6060 should work.
