<p dir="auto">I believe you need to enable "Play user interface sound effects" in the System Settings->Sound preference pane.</p>
<p dir="auto">I don't like needing to do that, and mentioned so to Benny a long time ago.</p>

<p dir="auto">So it's not like there cannot be ANY sounds coming from MailMate. They play fine in the preference panes. But they don't play (or are silenced) while using MailMate.</p>
<p dir="auto">I have reproduced this with both r5937 and the latest, r5998. I don't know what else to try. Sounds play fine elsewhere in macOS, through the appropriate channels (general sound output for general sounds and specific sound output for sound effects).</p>
<p dir="auto">Anyone have any suggestions?</p>
