Hi

I’m deciding that an answer to my issue is to reinstall MM. I think I’m missing the standard.plist file. At least I can’t find it. (User error in creating keybindings?)

What about sources.plist?

HI Robert,

Thanks for this hint. I do have a plist file I had created (with help from this list!)I finally had the time and internet connectivity to try this. I don’t know Xcode but downloaded it and opened up the file “messageVerfications.plist” (warns me when I send an email out of my gmail account) Couldn’t see anything obvious (I’m not a programmer!) So I tried moving the file out of the library, rebooted my computer and I still have all MM keystrokes greyed out. So it’s not that file, right?

Other ideas?

thanks for help!

I had a problem similar to this, and was only able to fix it after I opened one of my keybindings files, which was misbehaving, and edited it in Xcode. It was failing quietly and messing up lots of previously working bindings. My attempts to edit the file in a text editor didn't work because I was making quoting errors. When I used Xcode, the tool found my errors and I was able to fix them.

It would be nice if there was some logging or pop-up when something like this goes wrong so it's easier to find and fix. If there's logging of plist loading failures, I couldn't find it.

Hope that helps,

hi

It’s driving me nuts. (When I focus on it.) None of the keyboard shortcuts in MM work. They are all greyed out. Here is a screenshot. It must be something simple as I can’t find anyone having a similar issue. I’ve looked and looked to find some checkbox?

Yes, I have Custom Keybindings Enabled with a special that I created to warn me when I send mail from this address. that’s it.

Something is getting in the way? I use Alfred and Hazel but not Keyboard Maestro or anything like that. Ideas?

Thanks
