I find the main difference between using MM and Fastmail in Labels mode is when you delete a message that has more than one Label/Folder. If you do that with the Fastmail client (in Folders mode or Labels mode - it doesn't matter), all instances of that message are deleted. Whereas, if you do that in MM, only that particular message instance is deleted. If you do the latter and then load the FM client in Folders Mode, that single message is deleted. In Labels Mode, only that particular Label is removed.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Otherwise they act the same. Copying a message from one folder in MM to another Folder results in a single message in Fastmail with those 2 Labels/Folders. That is also what would happen when doing this with the FM client. And Moving a message in MM from one Folder to another Folder, results in the FM client seeing a single instance of that message in the second Folder in Folders Mode, or a single instance of that message with the first Label replaced by second Label in Labels Mode. That is also what would happen when doing this with the FM client.<br></div><div><br></div><div>So the upshot is that Copying and Moving messages from Folder to Folder in MM matches what happens when doing that in the FM client. They differ only when Deleting a message that has more than one Label or Folder. It’s arbitrary as far as MailMate is concerned.<br></p><p dir="auto">One note about Fastmail contacts: you can create a shared contact book if you have multiple Fastmail users on your account.
