I’m 58 and I remember the 1990’s when the answer would have been ‘Move the preferences file to the desktop and try again.’ but I don’t know if that is useful anymore…I haven’t done that in a long while anyway.</p>

<p dir="auto">I have MM 5635 though (on El Capitan). MM says they are no updates, so you must be running a re-release version. That would be good news if this issue is fixed in the forthcoming release.</p>

</blockquote><p dir="auto">The To-Field still expands for me in 5637 and in 6137. I don’t remember when that capability arrived, but I have had it for a long time. Perhaps use this hidden preference to make sure that it is not set to 1 line (somehow).<br>
