<p dir="auto">I use Alfred for text expansion alongside 1Password for secrets. Every now and then, I noticed my snippets wouldn't work and chalked it up to some weird bug. However, one day I found a message stating the text-expansion was "locked by secure entry"<a href="https://www.alfredforum.com/topic/11646-snippets-expansion-is-blocked-by-secure-entry/">1</a>.</p>
<p dir="auto">It <em>might</em> be related to your problem. Note that I wasn't using a hot-key but rather was simply allowing it to detect a phrase like <code>p-sig</code> or <code>v-sig</code> and then just expand automatically.</p>
