<p dir="auto">Looks like a general problem. I experience the same behaviour as you - deafult mail client jumps back to MailMate after a few seconds. I tried setting default clients in both Mail.app and MailMate, and the setting wouldn’t stick.</p>

<p dir="auto">The next step was to try the trusty <a href="http://www.rubicode.com/Software/RCDefaultApp/">RCDefaultApp</a>, and this time my choice of default client stuck.</p>
